John D. Brantley, is the general manager for IBM's Global Chemical and Petroleum/Industrial Products Industries. He joined IBM in Bedford, New Hampshire as a marketing representative in 1982. He has a BA in Business Administration from the University of New Hampshire and a MBA from Rochester Institute of Technology.
Prior to being named General Manager for IBM's Global Chemical and Petroleum/Industrial Products Industries, John held the following senior positions at IBM: Director, Incentive Strategies and Vice President of Direct Marketing for IBM North America; Vice President, Americas Integrated Marketing Communications; Vice President, IBM Direct Sales, IBM.com, Americas; Vice President, Worldwide BladeCenter Sales, Systems Group.
In addition to his current GM responsibilities, John was appointed in 2008 to the IBM Integration and Value Team, this team of 300 executives work together to address important cross-company integration challenges to advance IBM's growth agenda.
Steve Edwards has been a management consultant for over 25 years and active in the Chemicals and Petroleum (C&P) industries since 1996. He joined Price Waterhouse (PW) in 1978, a couple of years after graduating. PW merged with Coopers & Lybrand in 1998 to form Pricewaterhouse-Coopers. He joined IBM in October 2002 through the acquisition of PWC Consulting.
His specialization is Information Technology and over the past 10 years much of his focus has been on cross-border ERP (SAP) enabled business transformation projects. He was the Global Relationship Partner for consulting services for over eight years for Royal Dutch / Shell including when with PW, PwC Consulting and IBM.
Mr. Edwards became Global Industry Leader for C&P industries for IBM Global Business Services in early 2003. In this role he is responsible for developing the strategy for consulting and systems integration services, application management services and business transformation outsourcing for these industries. Recently, he has spent a significant amount of time in important territories for oil and gas including Russia, China and India. As well as the specific project experience noted above, he has experience of working in C.E.E. countries, Latin America, the U.S., Canada, Australia and the Middle East. He has responsibility for the worldwide signings, revenue and profit performance for these industries and in the management of the opportunity pipeline with regional C&P industry leaders.
Mr. Edwards has a B.Sc. (Hons) in Computer Science, is a Fellow of the Institute of Management Consultants and an affiliated member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales.
Chuck Stern leads global industry marketing activities for IBM’s Chemicals and Petroleum industry. In this role he is responsible for developing marketing strategies and executing programs that drive thought leadership, demand generation and channel enablement for industry focused solutions.
Chuck joined IBM in 1996 as a strategy consultant in IBM Global Business Services. Prior to his current role, Chuck led marketing programs for IBM’s Global Business Services Automotive industry.
Chuck received his MBA in marketing from Northwestern Kellogg Graduate School of Management and his BA in economics from the University of Michigan.
