Charles King, Pund-IT’s president and principal analyst, focuses on business technology evolution and interpreting the effects these changes will have on vendors, their customers, and the greater IT marketplace.
Charles began working in Silicon Valley in the early 1990s writing on technical, business, and strategy issues for Cisco Systems, Adobe Systems, SGI, and the Jet Propulsion Laboratory, then became an IT industry analyst in 1998.
Since founding Pund-IT in December 2004, Charles’ has produced regular commentaries in his newsletter, the Pund-IT Weekly Review, as well as numerous client projects.
Dave Carlquist is the vice president of Global Competitive Strategy and Sales for IBM. In that role, he is responsible for IBM’s sales execution and strategies for capturing competitive market share in the hardware, software and I/T services segments worldwide.
Dave joined IBM in 1982 and has worked in a broad range of roles encompassing sales, marketing, services and business development. Prior to his current job he was the vice president of General Business for the Western half of the US, responsible for sales and services including all small business and mid-market enterprises plus large enterprises establishing new relationships with IBM. Previous to that, he was vice president, Americas – Central Region where he had responsibility for IBM’s operations across the US Midwest including sales and support of IBM products and services. Prior to that, Dave was vice president, Global Emerging and Competitive Markets where he had worldwide responsibilities for business development in high growth, emerging markets in small and mid-sized enterprises.
Dave is a member and past chairman of the Workforce Board of Northern Cook County. He serves as Vice President of the Board of the Lizzadro Museum of Lapidary Arts, a member of the Board of Governors, Elmhurst Memorial Healthcare, a member of the Board of Trustees of the Adler Planetarium and Astronomy Museum in Chicago and a member of the Economic Club of Chicago and the Commercial Club of Chicago.
Dave earned a Bachelor of Arts in Computer Science from Northwestern University and a Masters of Business Administration from the University of Chicago with a specialization in finance.
