In January, 2011 Neil was named into a newly created position as the VP of Business Analytics & Optimization (BAO) for IBM North America. He is responsible for leading this key growth initiative across all IBM brands. Neil works closely with many clients and their IBM teams to help them find ways to leverage information to grow revenue, lower costs, or manage risk.
Neil spent two years as the worldwide VP of Sales for the software products that are part of IBM’s Information Management, Business Analytics, and Enterprise Content Management portfolios. This includes Data Management, Information Integration, Data Warehousing, Advanced Case Management, Business Intelligence & Performance Management, and Predictive Analytics software. Neil also helped lead IBM’s successful acquisition of Cognos.
In 2006 and 2007 Neil managed IBM’s software business for Asia Pacific.
Neil spent 9 years in various Professional Services roles, including CEO of Plural, a private consulting/SI company based on Wall Street, and as the leader of IBM’s e-business services practice.
Neil grew up in Toronto, Canada, and went to Wilfrid Laurier University. He started with IBM in 1980 and held various sales and sales management roles in Edmonton, Vancouver, Southwestern Ontario, and Toronto before moving to the United States in 1994.
Rick Hoehne is a 20+ year veteran of the Insurance industry where he has spent much of his career applying advances in technology to creating greater competitive gains across the Insurance value chain.
Rick is recognized as one of IBM’s Global Insurance leaders and has successfully led a variety of sales, business development, and solution development groups within IBM’s Consulting, Software, and Sales and Distribution organizations.
Rick spent the first half of his career on the front lines where he was Vice President at a global claims administration and risk management organization, President and CEO of a successful start up focused on claims and risk management solutions, and was the VP of Operations for a Managing General Agency. Rick’s expertise includes Strategy, Distribution, Operations, and Claims.
Rick has helped many of IBM’s customers in their efforts to modernize and transform their business, and has been influential in establishing IBM’s strategy for the Insurance industry. Rick chairs IBM’s North American Insurance Advisory council which is comprised of Senior Line of Business Executives from some of America’s largest Life and Non-Life insurance companies.
Tom Deutsch serves as a Program Director in IBM's Big Data Team. He played a formative role in the transition of Hadoop-based technology from IBM Research to IBM Software Group, and he continues to be involved with IBM Research Big Data activities and transition from Research to commercial products. Tom created the IBM BigInsights Hadoop based product, and then has spent several years helping customers with Apache Hadoop, BigInsights and Streams technologies identifying architecture fit, developing business strategies and managing early stage projects across more than 200 customer engagements. Tom has co-authored a Big Data book and multiple thought papers.
As Director of Enterprise Marketing, Abner Germanow is responsible for connecting Juniper technology innovations to the opportunities of businesses, governments, and educational institutions.
Prior to joining Juniper Networks, Mr. Germanow led the Enterprise Communications Infrastructure research practice at IDC, a leading market research and IT advisory firm. At IDC, his team pioneered research into the market dynamics influencing investments in switching, routing, WLAN, IP video, telepresence, security, and unified communications. He has spoken at numerous private and industry events including Interop, RSA, IDC Directions, and he has been widely quoted in many business and trade publications.
