ABCs of Value-Based Care: Implications of Research

Dr. F.X. Campion serves as a clinical informatics consultant to the Quintiles Real World Late Phase Research group in Cambridge, MA.  He served as the Director for Provider Programs at RWLPR’s predecessor company, Outcome Sciences, from 2007 – 2011.  He was responsible for development of the COMPASS Distributed Research network.  Dr. Campion oversaw clinical applications for several national clinical registries and managed Outcome’s PQRS, Meaningful Use and Joint Commission core measure Registry programs.

Dr. Campion is Vice President for Clinical Affairs for Alere Analytics (2011 – present), a subsidiary of Alere, Inc. providing leading edge clinical decision support software solutions to the healthcare industry.  He oversees Alere’s evidence-based rules engine and library of medical knowledge for clinical alerts, hospital surveillance and population management programs.

He is a member of the Department of Population Medicine at Harvard Medical School and board certified in both internal medicine and clinical informatics.  He maintains his internal medicine clinical practice at the Harvard Vanguard Medical Associates, Kenmore center in Boston.  He served as the Director for Clinical Information Systems at Harvard Vanguard/Atrius Health from 2005-2007, helping to roll out the EpicCare EMR across the Atrius Health Care System.  He served as Medical Director of HVMA’s Complex Chronic Care disease management service from 2007-2009. He was the Vice President for Clinical Integration of the Caritas Christi Health System, 1995-2005 and was the Director of Quality Resources at the Lahey Clinic in Burlington, MA, 1990-1995.

Dr. Campion received his AB degree in biology from the College of the Holy Cross, medical degree from Harvard Medical School and completed internal medicine residency training at the New England Deaconess Hospital.
