|Steve Black - Senior Fund Manager|
Despite the domestic economy remaining patchy with a low growth outlook, record low inflation and continuing volatility in global markets, the Pengana Emerging Companies Fund has continued to see strong performance for the 12 months to 31 August 2016, returning 32.8% for its investors. The portfolio remains conservatively positioned given the patchy economic outlook.
The reporting season provides the team with valuable opportunities to meet with all the current companies the fund is invested in , to assess potential new investments and to reassess their views and the outlook for the small cap sector. It also helps to highlight those areas to be wary of as well as those sectors and stocks that are well positioned for the future.
Please join Steve Black, Senior Fund Manager as he gives his assessment of the past 6 months, his view on the half year reporting season and the portfolios positioning given the teams’ outlook for small caps.
