MACRA Episode-Based Cost Measures Field Testing National Provider Call

Date: Thursday, November 2nd 2017

Time: 3:30-5:00 PM ET

The goal of the National Provider Calls is to provide detailed information about the MACRA Episode-Based Cost Measures Field Testing. The presentation will provide information about the project background, measure development process, measure methodology, and field testing activities. This portion of the presentation will include a discussion of the purpose and content of the field test reports, how to access and interpret these reports, and information on the supplemental documentation posted on the MACRA Page. There will also be a discussion about an opportunity to provide feedback through an online survey. The presentation will be followed by a Q&A session, where stakeholders will have an opportunity to ask questions and provide feedback on measure development activities and field testing.

Note: There will be another session covering the same materials on Monday, October 30 from 12-1:30 p.m. ET. To join this webinar, register here: https://engage.vevent.com/rt/cms/index.jsp?seid=849

Field testing will take place from October 16 to November 15, 2017. Beginning on October 16, clinicians and clinician groups (TINs) who are attributed 10 or more episodes for performing or managing the procedures/medical conditions captured by the eight episode groups will have the opportunity to view a confidential report with information about their performance on the eight cost measures listed below. In addition, all stakeholders will be able to view a mock report and supplemental documentation on the measures that will be publicly posted. We will be seeking feedback from all stakeholders on the measures, confidential or mock report, and documentation through an online survey, which will be open from October 16 to November 15.

The episode-based cost measures which will be reported to group practices and solo practitioners who meet a 10-episode case minimum for at least one measure during field testing are the following:

  • Elective Outpatient Percutaneous Coronary Intervention (PCI)
  • Knee Arthroplasty
  • Routine Cataract Removal with Intraocular Lens (IOL) Implantation
  • Revascularization for Lower Extremity Chronic Critical Limb Ischemia
  • Screening/Surveillance Colonoscopy
  • Intracranial Hemorrhage or Cerebral Infarction
  • Simple Pneumonia with Hospitalization
  • ST-Elevation Myocardial Infarction (STEMI) with PCI
